バードランド。
広い店内、老若男女お客さん一杯！
週一回のジャムセッションの日を楽しんだ。
Birdland.
In the large store, there were many audience of young and old men and women!
I enjoyed the day of the jam session once a week.

地元トランペッターの音色、フレーズ、リズムが、明るくて最高！

翌日、コットンクラブ。
いい感じのジャズバー。
4リズム＋3管という豪勢カルテット！

クラリネットとトロンボーンの明るい音色､最高!

ドイツ人は明るい。
世界で一番明るいと思う。
初めはうちのスタッフが特別明るいのだと思ってた。
でもそうじゃないなと、町のあちらこちらで感じ初めてた｡
音楽がそれにとどめをさした。
German is bright.
I think they are the brightest in the world.
I though that our staff were special bright at first.
At that time I was feeling that it was different, walking in the town.
Music pointed reminisces it.
ドイツの明るさは、お茶目な明るさ。
イギリスの明るさに似てる。
Brightness of Germany is a playful brightness.
It is similar to the brightness of the United Kingdom.
「エクストリーム・アイロン掛け」というスポーツがある。
ジャンプして空中でアイロンかけたり、回転しながらアイロンかけたり、ロープでアイロンを振り回してアイロンかけたりして、技を競う。
もちろんイギリス発祥。
There is a sport of "Extreme ironing".
They compete the work of ironing in the air, ironing while rotating, or ironing with iron which they brandish with rope.
It is originated in the UK of course.
このお茶目なスポーツにまず飛び付いたのが、ドイツだ。
いち早く支部を立ち上げ、初の世界大会を開催した。

Germany launched a branch quickly, and held the World Games for the first time.

イギリスの音楽。
クイーン、エルトン・ジョン、ストーンズ、ビートルズなど、バラード歌っても決定的には暗くならない。
ドイツも同じ魂を持ってると思う。
British music.
Queen, Elton John, Stones, Beatles, etc.,

I think Germany also have the same soul.
そんなドイツのお茶目な音楽に触れた2日間だった｡
ところで､ドイツはヨーロッパ。
ゲルマン民族だけが暮らしてるわけではない。
音楽も、料理もそう。
もう少しだけ付き合ってね。

…1-11 Spain in Germany
カサ・デ・べニート。
スペイン料理屋だ。
そして、週一でジャズライブが行われる場。
更に、スペイン系のコミュニティーの場でもあるようだった。
Casa de Benito.
It's a Spanish restaurant.
And, it is also where they play jazz once a week.
In addition, it seems like it is also a place for community of Spanish descent.
最初はかなり引いてしまった。
だって､スペイン系演奏者たち、テーブルを囲って食事していて、まるで大家族の食事風景、取り付くしまもないんだ。
テーブルのみでカウンターはない。
俺の他に客はいない。
寂しすぎる!
At first my feeling was the state of down very much.
Because Spain players had dinner surrounds the table and it seemed like a meal landscape of big family, and I thought I could not bring a friend.
There isn't counter, there are only tables, and there was no gest exept me.
I was so lonely!
腹は減ってなかったけど、暇だ。
Brokkoli（ブロッコリー）とSuppe（スープ）が読めたので注文した。
直ぐに、パンとブロッコリーのソースが出て来た。
400円ぐらいだったので､こんなもんだろと納豆しつつ､少々がっかり｡
ますます沈んでいく俺｡
I was not hungry, but boring.
I could read the words of Brokkoli(Broccoli) and Suppe(Soup) in the menu, so I ordered it.
Immediately, the source of the broccoli and bread came out.
I understood it because it was about 400 yen, but I was disappointed a little.
I was sanking more and more.
30分ほど過ぎただろうか｡
一斉に事態が好転し始める｡
演奏者たちが立ち上がった｡演奏が始まりそうだ｡
客が入って来た｡急に店らしくなる｡
そして､スープがやって来た。
本番はこちら､「ジャガイモとブロッコリーのスープ」だったのだ。
Maybe about 30 minutes later.
things began to get better in unison.
Players stood up.
Performance was likely to start.
Guests came.
It made good atmosphere.
And then, soup came.
Here, the production.
lt was the "soup of broccoli and potatoes".
素晴らしい料理！
ジャガイモの「とろり」にブロッコリーの青が添えられ見た目も美しく、味も最高！
ジャガイモ料理はドイツ名物。
随分食べて来て､どれも美味しかったけど、これがNo1だ｡
Great food!
Blue of broccoli is put on "creamy" of potato.
It's beautiful and the taste is the best!
Potato dishes are Germany specialty.
I ate many and everything was delicious, but this is the No1.
スペイン料理屋でありながら、地元ドイツの調理法や食材を取り入れていることに感激した。
ローカル料理を世界で提供する際、それって大事なことかもしれない。
売り上げ（客の満足）の意味でも、身土不ニ（客の健康）の意味でも。
I was thrilled that a Spanish restaurant had adopted food and recipes of local Germany
When you provide local cuisine abroad, it may be important.
Not only in the sense of sales (customer satisfaction), but also in the sense of Shindofuji(health of customer).
和食はどうだろう｡
海外であまり食べないからわからないな。
初めての海外ニューヨークで食べた、泉谷しげる似のオヤジが握ったカリフォルニア米の寿司を思い出した｡
未体験な触感､でも確かにそれは寿司｡
しかも美味かったので､大変な衝撃を受けたのだった｡
How about Japanese cuisine?
I do not know because I do not eat it too much abroad.
I remembered the sushi in California rice that a man like Izumiya Shigeru made and I ate abroad New York for the first time,
Tactile sensation non-experience. But it was certainly sushi.
And it was delicious, so I received a lot of shock.

ここはスペインだ！
フラメンコやタンゴなどラテンの潔い響きに通じる気高い美しさは､魂の叫びだ！

Here is Spain!
That is noble beauty such as graciousness of Latin, for example tango and flamenco, is the cry of the soul!
I'm glad I came!
バードランドとコットンクラブは日本で検索してた店。
ここはそうじゃない。
バードランドでアルト奏者が配ってたチラシを見て来た。
その時は地元トランペッターの明るい音に夢中で、アルト奏者の魅力に気が付かなかった。
でもここでは、彼が率いるスペイン軍団の濃厚な音にメロメロだ。
Cotton Club and Birdland was the result that I searched about jazz in Japan.
Here was not it.
Alto player was handing out flyers at the session of Birdland.
I saw a flyer that alto player was handing out at Birdland and came here.
At that time, I was crazy about bright sound of local trumpeter and did not notice the charm of the alto player.
But here, I'm crazy to rich sound of Spain corps that he led.
ここは､彼らの家だ。
彼らは､家族だ。
食卓を囲み、その後､お客さんは少ないけど家族でライブを楽しむ。
時々お客さんが多いセッションに参加し、チラシを配って、お客さんを呼んで来る。
なんだか感激して、帰りしなメンバー一人一人と握手しながら､
「ムイ・ビエン！グラシアス！」
と挨拶した｡
Here is their home.
They're family.
They surrounds the dining table, and then enjoy music playing of the small audience but fun live in the family.
Sometime he participate in large audience session and hand out flyers to call the audience.
I was somewhat impressed, and when I went back I was greeted with "Mui Bien! Gracias!" while shaking hands with each member.
こんな世界が、世界にいくつあるのだろう。
無限！
How many such a world does the world have?
Infinite!
