それは、初のヨーロッパでもある。
空港から乗った特急電車の中で、さっそくカルチャー・ショックを受けたのだった!
My first Germany!
It′s also my first Europe.
I received a culture shock immediately in the e xpress train from the airport!
デザインが凄い。
デザインが凄い物が沢山ある、という意味ではない。
目の前の全てのデザインが、単品ではなく、全体としてひとつの作品を作っているのだ。
Design is great.
It does not mean there are many great design things.
All designs in front of me are not set of single i tems.
They make one design by all.
電車の車内がそう。
駅などの建物や町並みは言うまでもない。
よく耳にする、ヨーロッパ調のデザインが…て 言いまわし、あれが、町まるごと当てはまるのだ。
Inside of train is that.
Station, building, and street are of course that.
I often hear that this design is Europe style.
Now I see Europe style design in everewhere.
港町ハンブルグへ到着。
明日から毎日一週間、ここから特急電車で2時間かけて、ハノーバへ通う。
CEBIT2002という、世界最大のエレクトロニクス・ショーに、開発中の無線機を出すのだ。
I arrived to Hamburg of the port city.
I will go to Hanover every day for a week over 2 hour by express train from here.
In CEBIT2002, the world's largest Electronics Show, we are out of the wireless machine under development.
これが商品化されれば、テレビやビデオのハイビジョン映像を無線でパソコンに送れるんだぜ！
将来はケータイにも送れるかもよ！
When this is commercialized, it is possible to s end HD video to PC by wirelessly! In the future,
it will be able to send it to the m obile phone!

翌朝、ホテルのレストランで。
「旨い！Lecker!」
特にチーズとヨーグルトが絶品。
通りがかったウェートレスにドイツ語を試してみた。
「Dies ist sehr lecker！」
ニッコリ笑った顔が素敵！
何かドイツ語で返してくれた声がまた素敵！
彼女が去った後、
「フ―プシュー（可愛い。つづり不明）…」 と呟いた。
これもまた、ドイツの美やな！
Next morning in the hotel restaurant.
"Delicious! Lecker!"
Yogurt and cheese are superb especially.
I tried to speak German to waitress.
"Dies ist sehr lecker!"
Face smile was wonderful! Voice was wonderful also!
After she left,
"fupshu(Cute, spelling unknown) ..." I murmured.
This is also Germany beauty!
ホテルの目の前がダムト―ル駅。
これがまた美しい。
美しい特急電車に乗って、
いくつもの町を越えた。
往復4時間でも飽きへんわ!
There is Damtor Station in front of the hotel.
This is also beautiful.
Riding on the beautiful express train,
I passed through a lot of town.
Also 4 hours round trip was not boring me.
車窓から外を見ていて、気が付いた。
延々、何もない。
本当に何もないんだ。
When I was looking out the train window,
I not iced this.
There is nothing for a long time.
There is nothing really.
日本の場合、山や川や海や森や、何かあるだろ ?
ところが、ここには何もない。
突然に町が現れる。
また何もないのが続く。
ドイツあるいは西洋の美と、日本あるいは東洋 の美の違いが、なんとなく分かったような気がした。
In the case of Japan, there is something for ex ample forests, sea, mountains or rivers, isn't there?
But there is nothing here.
Town appears suddenly.
Then nothing time starts again.
I feel that I understand the difference between beauty of the West or Germany Beauty and Orienta l or Japanese Beauty somehow,
西洋は何もない空間が多いから、美しい空間を作る方向に芸術が発展した。
絵画ならダリやピカソ。
There are many empty places in the West.
So art has developed in a direction to make a beautiful space.
Picasso and Dali in terms of painting.
東洋は美しい空間が多いから、それをミニチュア化する芸術が発展した。
絵画なら水墨画や日本画。
美しい景色を描いた作品が沢山。
庭園や盆栽は、まさに景色のミニチュア。
In the Orient, there are beautiful places, so art of miniature of it was developed.
Japanese paintings and ink painting in terms of painting.
They have a lot of work depicting the beautiful scenery.
Japanese garden and bonsai is a miniature landscape exactly.
空間の違いは、人生観の違いにもつながるようだ。
般若心経が日本で特に人気なのは、何もない空 間がないから、「空即是色」を感覚的に理解出来るからだと思う。
Difference of space seems to lead to the differ ence of outlook on life.
Heart Sutra is popular in Japan particularly.
I think the reason is that Japanese can underst and "nothing is existence" sensuously because Japan has seldom empty places.

会場設営の間は、マシンのセッティングをしたぐらいで気楽なものだった。

ショーの説明員は辛い！
I miss the days four hours round trip did not suffer me.
During the site construction, my mission was only a setting of machine most and I was comfortable.
But now…

とにかく、今日を含めて3日間乗りきればショー閉幕!

Anyway, when we try our best for three days i ncluding today, the show will end.

ここまでなんとかやってこれたのは、学生バイト君たちのお陰だ。
俺のつたない英語によく付き合ってくれるんだ 。
カフェテリアでのランチや休憩で。
屋上でもよく一緒に休憩する。
もちろん会場でもお客さんがいない時はよく話すよ。
お陰で全く退屈しないね。
I spent vigorously until today.
It's thanks to our part-time job students.
They gives me good response to my poor English.
At break and lunch in the cafeteria.
We often break even on the roof.
Of course, even at the venue, while there are no audience, we often talk together.

あの後お客さん急増して、大忙しだったのだ。
特急電車2時間、やっとホテルに戻って、腹は減ったけど、食べに出る気力もない。
とりあえず冷蔵庫からチーズとビールを取り出した。
I'm so tired.
After that, audience included very much.
So we were very busy.
By 2 hours express train, I was finally back to t he hotel.
I am hungry but do not have the energy to go out to eat.
I took out a beer and cheese from the refriger ator.
食べてビックリ！
飲んでビックリ！
「充分やないか！充分やないか！」
独り言が出る。
涙も出て来た。
もちろん、そんなの初めて!
Beer and cheese surprised me!
"It is enough! It is enough!"
Soliloquy comes out.
Tears are coming out.

オフの日、ハンブルグ散策中、何でもないスー パーで買ったもの。
どちらも凄く安かった。
In my rest day at Hamburg walking, I bought it in a usual supermarket.
Both were very cheap.
ビールは水より安かった。
でも自ビール。
そのスーパーのビールは、どれもこれも地元産 だった。
ドイツでは風邪をひいたらビールが処方されるという。
ドイツでは、ビールは体にいいのだ。
作り方や材料はもちろん重要だけど、地元産、てことも重要だと思う。
これぞ身土不ニやな！
The beer was cheaper than water.
But it is local beer.
Every beer in the supermarket is local beer.
Beer are prescribed when they catch a cold in Germany.
In Germany, beer's good for body.
Material and how to make is important of cour se.
But, I think that local production also is import ant.
Exactly this is the "shindo fuji"(body & place is one).
チーズは青カビが生えてるようなやつで、高そうに見えたけど、めちゃめちゃ安かった。
日本における、豆腐みたいな立ち位置か？
この感動は、以前、美味しい豆腐屋さんの豆腐を冷やっこで食べた時の感動と似ている。
これも身土不二!
The cheese is blue mold one.
It looked so expensive, but It was very cheap.
It is the position of tofu in Japan, Isn't it?
This impression is similar to the impression when I ate cold tofu ofdelicious tofu shop.
This is also "shindo fuji"(body & place is one).
東洋人と西洋人は、腸の長さや歯の形状などいろいろと異なる。
だから、本当は、昔から食べられて来た地元の物を食べるのがよい。
そのように体が出来ているから。
それが身土不二。
Westerners and Asians are different in various ways, such as the shape of the teeth and the length of the intestine.
So, really, We should eat local food that we ha ve ate from the old days.
Because body is made that way.
It's "shindo fuji"(body & place is one).
でも、こうして、旅先でその土地の文化や仲間へ思いをはせながら、その土地の物を味わって 涙を流すのも、ええやないか。
But, It's good that they think about friends and culture of the land and they have local food of the land and they tear to taste it, Isn't it?
